In a forest of companies that come and go, Fortune Forest is firmly rooted as a model of integrity and morality. Founded in 2006, with three individuals investing a total of 1 million RMB to establish it, Fortune Forest soon received its first order exceeding 2 million RMB. The company reached an agreement with Haihua Import and Export Corporation to finance and handle the order as its magnitude exceeded Fortune Forest’s financial capabilities. The first order was successfully completed. A subsequent order was placed by the customer, but this time the customer did not pay after their products arrived at the DOP. The shipment had to be returned.

Fortune Forest faced a pivotal decision. The easy way out would be to leave the inventory with Haihua, cut losses by filing for bankruptcy, and then restart the company. The harder choice was to assume the inventory and sell it. Knowing that this was the right choice, Fortune Forest took back the containers of inventory and reached an agreement to store the merchandise in an old factory while working hard to sell it. As luck would have it, a fire destroyed most of the products, effectively disintegrating dream of a quick financial recovery. As the former factory building was not insured, a huge loss was incurred by Haihua. Legally, Fortune Forest could have walked away, but the leadership of Fortune Forest knew that there was only one right choice. Using its income, Fortune Forest compensated for Haihua’s financial loss, operating entirely on borrowed funds with a -510000 RMB deficit. By 2009, restitution was made complete with Haihua and Yongkang Factory taking initiative to share part of the loss. We will forever be grateful.

With a fresh start in 2010, Fortune Forest has now grown into one of the most influential companies in the textile industry, with an annual export volume of more than 7 million US$. Through the most difficult years, holding fast to a commitment to integrity and morality, Fortune Forest never defaulted on employee’s salaries, never went into arrears with suppliers, and never lessened its sense of responsibility to meet the needs of its customers. The reward for always doing what is right—not what is easy—has been consistently stellar recommendations from our customers. We will forever believe the choices we made were the correct choices, and we will continue to follow the principles of integrity and morality. While at one time these standards were a heavy burden to bear, they have become the roots that ensure the stability and endurance of our company today.
